So, what is a CARO Inspection and why do I have to have it?
A CARCO Inspection protects the car owner and the insurance provider. It is designed to document the existence of the vehicle as well as its physical condition, anti-theft devices and other options.
In New York State, the inspection must be completed within two weeks after the time of purchase on all vehicles seven years-old or newer. However, if your vehicle is new and has less than 1,000 miles on the odometer, an inspection is not required. Failure to comply will result in the suspension, or removal, of physical damage coverage.
The free inspection takes only five minutes and includes a brief questionnaire and a series of photos.
If you would like a CARCO Inspection, stop by a Blue Line Insurance Agency office, in Champlain (840 State Route 11) or Lake Placid (55 Barn Rd., Suite 204), weekdays, between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. or call 518-523-4321.
Inspections can be done rain or shine, but the staff prefers not to do them in blizzards or hurricanes.
