MARCH IS NATIONAL CRAFT MONTH

March of every year is National Craft Month! Maybe more than ever we need to find new crafts/hobbies to keep us busy. So, here are some fun and creative ideas for how to celebrate.

31 DAY CREATIVE CHALLENGE:

See if you can create something new and different every day of the month. This doesn’t need to be time consuming or complicated. Use your imagination and see what you can create in under an hour.

CREATE A VIRTUAL CRAFT PARTY:

Gather up your supplies and invite family and friends to join in on party. Be sure to send the list of supplies and materials needed ahead of time. This can be as simple or as elaborate as you like. Don’t forget to include snacks and beverages.

TAKE A CRAFT CLASS:

At least for now, this may have to be virtual, but it’s a great way to explore new activities and meet new likeminded people, even online. If you can’t find a class that fits your schedule, use social media, there are plenty of how-to craft videos out there.

MAKE HOLIDAY THEMED CRAFTS:

This could be a good time to get jump start on the holidays and gift ideas. Create crafts focusing on some of the upcoming ones like St. Patrick’s Day and Easter. You may also want to create Memorial Day, July 4th, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year themed crafts too.

MAKE CRAFTS FOR OTHERS:

Who doesn’t enjoy a homemade gift or card? Share your crafting skills with family and friends. Don’t forget to save a few items as holiday gifts.

TRY A NEW CRAFT:

This is a great opportunity to explore new craft activities. It might be knitting, painting, baking or even woodwork. Give something new a try and see where it leads.

EXPLORE YOUR KITCHEN:

Making dinner may seem more like a chore, but it doesn’t have to be. Try out new recipes and cooking techniques. Spice it up a little bit in the kitchen.
